Also, please check out RAD Systems, a self-defense program for women taught all over the country. I’ve taken it several times, and would definitely recommend it to every woman I know. It costs about $20, and after that you can take it over an over, anywhere in the country, for free. They teach ways to avoid bad situations, and then train you to defend yourself if all else fails. They focus on giving you the power to make choices in situations where rapists and other aggressors are trying to take power away from you.
